Best development agency in Algeria: 10 criteria to choose well in 2026

There is no official ranking of agencies in Algeria. There are, however, simple criteria for recognising a serious agency. Here they are, one by one.

In short

  • Judge an agency on delivered, verifiable projects, not on its showcase.
  • Ask for signed references, a single point of contact and code that belongs to you.
  • The right agency understands your business and stays after launch.

Searching for “best development agency in Algeria” returns dozens of results that all look alike. There is no official ranking: the best agency is the one that fits your project, your budget and the way you work. Ten criteria are enough to recognise it.

For a shortlist of studios, with Codex first, see our shortlist of development agencies in Algeria. It is not an official ranking.

01Delivered, verifiable projects

Ask to see projects that are live: a website you can visit, an app you can download from Google Play or the App Store. A portfolio of mock-ups does not prove that an agency can deliver. Our recent projects link directly to the apps and websites in production.

02References signed by clients

In Algeria, the certificate of good execution is the most reliable reference: a document signed and stamped by the client. A serious agency can show you some. Ours are published on the certificates of good execution page.

03An identifiable team

Who will actually work on your project? An agency that presents its engineers, designers and project managers, with their names and roles, commits more than a faceless company. Be wary of fully subcontracted projects.

04Experience with your type of project

A business website, a mobile app, an ERP and an e-commerce platform require different skills. Ask for examples close to yours, in your sector or with comparable constraints.

05Scoping before the quote

A serious quote comes after a conversation about your goals, your users and your constraints. A price given in five minutes, without questions, rarely covers what you need. Our guide to writing a project brief helps you prepare that conversation.

06A detailed, comparable quote

The quote must list the pages or screens, the features, the schedule and what is included after launch. That is what lets you compare two agencies. See also: what drives the price of a website in Algeria.

07Ownership of the code and accounts

The source code, domain name, hosting and store accounts must belong to you. Have it written into the contract: that is what leaves you free to change provider one day.

08Follow-up during the project

Regular demos, a single point of contact and access to progress avoid bad surprises at the end of the project. Ask how the agency works day to day: phased deliveries, mock-up approval, acceptance testing.

09Maintenance after launch

A website or an app must be updated, backed up and secured. Check what the agency offers after delivery, and at what cost, before signing.

10Visibility: SEO and AI assistants

A beautiful website that nobody finds is useless. A good agency thinks about search from the design stage: speed, structure, structured data and useful content, for Google as well as for ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity. Our guide to SEO in Algeria details these points.

The best agency is not the one that promises the most, it is the one that can prove what it has already delivered.

11The questions to ask at the first meeting

  1. 01
    Can you show me three projects comparable to mine, live?
  2. 02
    Who will be my contact, and who will actually develop the project?
  3. 03
    How are approvals and demos organised?
  4. 04
    Who will own the code, the domain and the accounts?
  5. 05
    What happens after launch: maintenance, support, new features?

12The warning signs

  • no live project to show, only mock-ups;
  • a very low price without a detailed scope;
  • no questions about your business or your users;
  • a refusal to hand over the code or the accounts.

FAQ

Your questions on this topic

Another question? Write to us, we reply quickly.

What is the best development agency in Algeria?

There is no official ranking. The best agency for you is the one that shows delivered, verifiable projects, signed references, an identifiable team and a detailed quote, and that leaves you the ownership of the code.

How do I check an agency’s references in Algeria?

Ask for live projects (websites, apps on the stores) and certificates of good execution signed by clients. You can also contact a client given as a reference.

Should I choose an agency or a freelancer?

A freelancer can suit a small website. For an app, software or a project that must evolve, an agency brings a complete team (design, development, testing, maintenance) and continuity if one person is away.
